Michelle lies unconscious on the living room floor, as the gas seeps out of the fireplace. She sees Carrie's face and fears that she has come to kill her – just before she passes out. Fortunately, Danny and Bill arrive and see that the gas valve has been turned off. Danny has the gas line checked and begins to believe that it wasn't an accident. Marah, Marina and Michelle confront Carrie and wonder if she deliberately tried to harm Michelle. Carrie doesn't shy from their accusations and is able to bring Michelle and Marina back into the fold. But Marah remains skeptical and Carrie notes it. When Marah returns to the Museum she finds an old friend - a childhood doll that mysteriously keeps reappearing without explanation. The last time she finds it in her drawer, it's after she knows she stuck it in a closet. She reaches for it and quickly pulls back: she's been cut, badly.

Josh breaks the news to Billy that he's going to confess to the cops. Billy reacts violently, tries to bully Josh back in line. But Josh's mind is made up. Josh phones Frank and sets up an appointment. He then goes to Reva's house to say goodbye. Josh holds onto Reva and makes love to her for what he believes may be the last time. But when he leaves for the police station, he encounters Billy who warns him that a threat may have been made on Michelle's life – and who knows, Marah may be next. Josh's determination to confess is trumped by his desire to protect his daughter, at all costs.

When Eden is grabbed by Bruzi's henchman, it seems Tony will have no choice but to acquiesce to Bruzi's demands. But Eden is brave as well as resourceful and she and Tony are able to turn the tables on the bad guys. Once they're safe, Eden discovers that Tony's been wounded in the struggle. She rushes him to the hospital, where a skeptical Ed senses that Tony didn't have a harmless accident. Bill appears and lashes out at Tony as Eden and Tony keep the real story a secret.

With Blake's help, Ross finds the mayor waiting for his meeting with Danny. Ross works the mayor and convinces him to give Ross his endorsement. On the gossip vine, Blake learns of Tony's injuries. When Danny shows up, sparks fly between him and Ross. Ross then decides to leak the Tony story to the press. Danny confronts Ross about the article in the paper on Tony's altercation. Ross reminds Danny that this is politics and he's fair game. Danny accuses Ross of being afraid he can't win this election on his own merits.

Beth and Lizzie arrive at Ravenwood to find that Olivia and Phillip have said, "I do." Lizzie summons Alan and Alex and Olivia finds herself confronted with the wrath of the Spauldings. She is up to the challenge, and Phillip summons his strength to support his bride. We soon realize that it isn't "true love" that's motivating either the bride or the groom. Olivia is fighting to protect the future of her baby girl, and Phillip is desperate to replace the child he thinks he's lost. Later, Cassie's suspicion of Olivia's behavior prompts her to follow Olivia to her house where she learns the truth about baby Emma. Cassie, who still thinks of the baby she lost, can't help but feel protective of this child. Cassie agrees to keep the baby's existence a secret.

Harley is furious with Gus for unilaterally deciding to stay on at Spaulding – and for having had to find it out from someone else. Gus defends but he's unable to tell her the real reason he's staying: he's undercover for Jeffrey. Likewise, Harley's unable to tell him the real reason she wants him out of the company: she doesn't want him caught up in the dirty business she's investigating. Frustration mixed with anger and hurt makes for a volatile mix and they argue loudly as Zach happens into the scene, upset that they are yelling at each other. Harley's the observer as Gus talks to Zach about it and she realizes he's only doing what he feels he must. She apologizes for trying to order him not to stay at the company. They make love but Harley's words haven't been a solace for Gus – he hates investigating Alan, but he must.

Jeffrey meets with agents from the CIA, FBI and DEA. He tells them he has agents in place to investigate their case against the Spauldings. Then he introduces the operative who will be working on the last piece of the puzzle, Reva Shayne Lewis. Christopher Langham walks in from the shadows and is introduced as a member of their team. Christopher expresses his concern to Jeffrey about working with Reva during this hectic time in her life, but it is Reva who expresses an interest in continuing.

Beth finds Jeffrey and confesses she's had an epiphany: he was right about her– she should have lived more in the moment and taken their affair for what it was – an affair. This catches Jeffrey off-guard who is in the midst of trying to get Marah off his mind. As he wishes what Beth is saying to be true, they make love one more time.
