Greening the supply chain in the Home Entertainment business has tremendous environmental and financial benefits.
- Sony Pictures Home Entertainment in collaboration with Sony's disc manufacturing division Sony DADC, has significantly reduced its environmental impact - and gained cost savings - through multiple supply chain initiatives such as:
- Making case, display and facility changes, which have resulted in avoiding approximately 25 million pounds of CO2e.
- Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has trained individuals for their Sony Green Partner Program auditor certification.
- SPHE continues to track and report its carbon footprint, recently publishing a 21% decrease in overall emissions from Fiscal Year '07-Fiscal Year '10.
- In January 2010, Michael Jackson's THIS IS IT DVD release in Japan used Secolo™ packaging, environmentally conscious plant-based plastics and green energy for printing and DVD production, thereby fully offsetting CO2 emissions for SPE Japan.
