Employees Go Green

Sony Pictures offers employees ways to be active partners in preserving and protecting the environment. The company sponsors a variety of sustainability-related programs and incentives aimed at promoting, educating, and inspiring environmental actions among its employees.

Living La Vida Verde: Sony Pictures wants to help its employees work sustainability and live sustainably when they’re away from the office. The company offers hybrid vehicle and residential solar purchase incentive programs. These programs offer eligible employees a cash rebate on the purchase of a qualifying electric or hybrid vehicle, and a similar program for installing solar panels on their residence. In addition, robust rideshare, vanpooling and flexible work programs give employees plenty of options for clean, green commuting. Whether they are carpoolers, bicyclists, walkers, alternative fuel vehicle drivers, or bus riders, the company supports their actions by giving them access to studio coupons, transit pass discounts, preferred parking, guaranteed emergency rides home, secure bike racks, showers, and more.

Giving Green for Green: Sony Pictures attempts to support employees who find sustainable projects to support in their communities through a new program that enables employees around the world to nominate an environmental organization in their community for a grant. Similarly, employees may submit their business ideas for a new process, program, or item that will make their work space or work life more "green." And, employees can enhance their personal donations to charitable organizations serving environmental purposes through a global matching gift program.

Volunteerism: The company has a longstanding commitment to environmental stewardship through volunteerism and charitable giving. Corporate partnerships such as "The Sony Pictures Urban Green Fund" in collaboration with Los Angeles-based environmental organization TreePeople, as well as volunteer projects with groups like Heal the Bay and Friends of the Ballona Wetlands, are just a few examples of the efforts Sony Pictures employees have supported through the years.
