 | Visual Effects Producer
Sony Pictures Imageworks
Visual effects producer Diana Ibanez joined the team at Sony Pictures Imageworks twice, first in 1995 for two years and then again in 1997. Her first project after her return was to produce the visual effects for Wes Craven’s werewolf film “Cursed,” starring Christina Ricci. Ibanez also contributed her production talents to Imageworks while working on a number of visual effects shots for the DreamWorks film “Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgandy,” starring Will Ferrell. Currently Ibanez is working as that visual effects producer for the highly anticipated “Superman Returns” due in theaters in June of 2006.

During her time away from Imageworks, Ibanez worked at Mill Film, which opened its U.S. office in 1997. Ibanez took on the roles as visual effects feature production coordinator and facility manager for the companies U.S.-based projects. Besides working on visual effects for features and commercials, she also assisted in managing the office and U.S. business matters and served as the company’s client liaison for many projects completed at their London-based facility. Ibanez worked at Mill films from 1997 to 2002 after Mill closed its Los Angeles office. Ms. Ibanez’s credits as visual effects coordinator included the features “Enemy of the State," the Academy Award®-winning "Gladiator," "K-19: The Widowmaker," and "Evolution."
After graduating from college in 1995, Ms. Ibanez took a job at Imageworks, as a bidding coordinator while waiting law school to start the following year. Needless to say, she deferred the first year and ultimately decided to stay with Imageworks. From 1995 to 1997 she was visual effects coordinator on "Starship Troopers,” which went on to be nominated for an Academy Award for Best Visual Effects in 1998. She also managed facility software evaluations and worked in the very new Digital Character Group before leaving Imageworks in 1997.
Diana Ibanez holds a Bachelors degree in Political Science and a Law and Society minor from University of Southern California.
