Mark Stetson joined Sony Pictures Imageworks in the spring of 2002, to supervise extensive visual effects for "Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle," working with director McG. He most recently completed more than 175 visual effects shots for P.J. Hogan's "Peter Pan."
Stetson won the Academy Award® and the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) Award in 2002 for visual effects on "The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring." That was Mark's first Academy Award and second BAFTA Award.

Stetson made his debut as a visual effects supervisor on director Luc Besson's "The Fifth Element," and won his first BAFTA Award, as well as a Prix Ars Electronica Honorary Mention, in 1998 for that effort. Other recent work includes visual effects supervision on "Supernova," for which he won a Prix Ars Electronica Honorary Mention in 1999.
Stetson built his career as one of the visual effects industry's preeminent practitioners beginning with "Star Trek: the Motion Picture," and continuing on such films as "Blade Runner," "The Right Stuff," "Ghostbusters," and "Die Hard." In 1985 he was nominated for an Academy Award for "2010." In 1989 he co-founded Stetson Visual Services, Inc. and contributed to more than 60 motion pictures, including "Dick Tracy," "Edward Scissorhands," "Batman Returns," "The Hudsucker Proxy," "True Lies," "The Shadow," "Interview with the Vampire," "Waterworld," and "Total Recall," for which his company, SVSI, was nominated for a Saturn Award.
