Digital Effects Supervisor Sony Pictures Imageworks
Seth Maury joined Sony Pictures Imageworks in 1999 as a lighter/compositor on “Stuart Little.” He continued working as a lighter/compositor for Imageworks on “The Hollow Man” and was then promoted to CG supervisor for “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.”
Additional projects for Imageworks include “Big Fish,” where his work on the creation of the Siamese twins, Ping and Jing, resulted in a BAFTA nomination for Outstanding Visual Effects, as well as the 2005 Academy Award winner for Achievement in Visual Effects, “Spider-man 2.” Maury is currently working as a digital effects supervisor on “Monster House,” the second Imageworks film to use the performance capture process.
Maury began his career in visual effects after seeing “Jurassic Park.” He quit his job as an engineer and began working from the ground up as a production assistant. He then moved on to work as a compositor on the first “Mortal Kombat” film.
Maury is originally from New York and holds a BS degree in mechanical engineering from Stanford University
