Animation Supervisor
Sony Pictures Imageworks
Sean Mullen began work at Sony Pictures Imageworks in 1998 as one of the first animators brought in to help build Imageworks’ growing digital character group. He is currently working as a directing animator on “Open Season,” the first CG animated feature from Sony Pictures Animation. Mullen’s primary responsibility is to lead his team in creating the performance of the character Elliot, while conveying the film's story through the characters in an entertaining way.

His first project at Imageworks was as an animator on “Stuart Little,” which garnered him an Annie Award nomination for Individual Achievement for Character Animation and a Visual Effects Society Award for Best Character Animation in an Animated Motion Picture. He was then promoted to lead animator on “Stuart Little 2.” Mullen has also done story and visual development work on various films at Imageworks such as the Academy Award®-winning short, “The ChubbChubbs!”
Mullen built his animation career at a number of studios such as Rich Animation Studios, High Horse Animation, Baer Animation, Dream Quest Images, Duck Soup Produckions and Mellow Manor Productions. His credits include the features “The King and I,” “Space Jam,” “Quest For Camelot,” “Doctor Dolittle,” “The Lion King,” as well as a number of television commercials.
