CLOUDY nominated for Golden Globe Award

Sony Pictures Animation's CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS was nominated by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for a Golden Globe Award for Best Animated Feature Film. CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS is nominated with CORALINE, FANTASTIC MR. FOX, THE PRINCESS AND THE FROG and UP.

"We are so proud of everyone on our crew of 500 people who worked so hard to make this film special," said writer-directors Christopher Miller and Phil Lord. "There should be space in the Beverly Hilton ballroom for 500 and their plus-ones, right?"

In addition to its Golden Globe nomination, CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS received Best Animated Feature nominations from the Broadcast Film Critics Association for their Critics' Choice Award, The International Press Academy's Satellite Award, and four Annie Award nominations for Best Animated Feature, best directing, best writing and best animated effects.

Since its release on September 18, 2009, CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS has been critically acclaimed around the world and commercially embraced, grossing over $180 million to date. The movie is set for release on DVD and Bluray on January 5, 2010.

The film is based on a best-selling children's book by Judi Barrett and Ron Barrett, and the team at Sony Pictures Animation and first-time animation directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller did an extraordinary job of taking the conceptual and thin book, and opening up the story in a creative and imaginative way that supported a full length feature film. In 3-D, the film really takes on another dimension for its innovation. Cloudy features celebrity voices including Bill Hader, Anna Faris, James Caan, Andy Samberg, Neil Patrick Harris, and Mr. T, among others.

"The 67th Annual Golden Globe Awards," hosted by Ricky Gervais, will be broadcast live coast to coast Sunday, January 17 on NBC (5 to 8 pm PT, 8 to 11 pm ET) from The Beverly Hilton.

"The 67th Annual Golden Globe Awards" will be seen in more than 160 countries worldwide and is one of the few awards ceremonies that span both television and motion picture achievements. The special will be produced by dick clark productions in association with the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. Philip Berk is President of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. Orly Adelson, president of dick clark productions, and Barry Adelman will executive produce the special. Chris Donovan is the director and dick clark productions' Bob Bardo is the executive in charge of production.
