I think a part of me knew Katherine was the one from the moment I met her by flipping my car around in the middle of the road to say hi to the pretty girl walking to work in her waitress outfit.

Katherine is an amazing girl. She is always reading a book and always wearing a smile. I remember once I got her number I called her so many times and she was always busy. But as my mom always says, "The squeeky wheel gets the grease." So I persisted even though she didn't want to go out... at the time. She finally gave in after probably a dozen attempts and we hit it off immediately.

I remember the moment I realized I couldn't live my life without her. We were out on the patio of my apartment swinging on a bench. It was the middle of the winter and we were snuggled up in half a dozen blankets. It was probably 20 degrees outside and Katherine had her head on my shoulder. I remember how perfect everything seemed and how right it felt. I remember her looking up at me with those big green eyes and smiling. That was the first time I told her I loved her. Falling in love with each other seemed easy and it was.
