This is me getting ready in my hotel room before the premiere.

I'm ready to go!

This is my family and I in the lobby of our hotel before the premiere.

This is my grandma and me posing in front of the limo that we rode to the premiere.

Here is Kevin James on the red carpet. He was the voice of Officer Landers in the movie.

This is Jason Lee, who voiced the character Bones.

Lauren Holly was there too, with her kids.

I was so excited to see Jon Heder, who was the voice of Skull in the movie.

Here I am with my family in front of the Monster House poster on the red carpet.

Here we are in front of the theater where the premiere was held.

Today is Saturday, the 15th of July and I'm really excited now because we leave for California very early tomorrow morning. Sony has been really fantastic to us. We're bringing my Grandma out with us because she has never seen California and Sony was able to find her a ticket to the premiere as well. They also promised to get us a Sony Studio Tour that I'm really looking forward to that too.

My family has been going over a list of all the things we want to do when we're in Los Angeles. I'm sure we won't have enough time to do all the things we want but we're sure going to try.

The premiere on Monday is the most exciting part though. We thought we'd just be walking to the theater from the hotel, but Sony told us that we'd be arriving in a Limo! My whole family is excited about it. My younger brother even went with my Mom to the store and picked out a new outfit to wear for the premiere- Wow! I really hope I get a chance to see Jon Heder because I loved the movie Napoleon Dynamite and I hope I get to see Jason Lee because I think My Name Is Earl is one of the funniest shows on TV. My next entry will tell you all how great the premiere was and who I got to see.

In the last few days two things have happened that really have me excited about going to the Monster House premiere. First, we found out the premiere date is the 17th of July so we got a chance to pick our travel dates. Having an actual date when we're leaving makes this a lot more real to me. Before I think I was in the "I still can't believe it" stage. The other thing that's happened is that they're starting to show commercials for the Monster House movie on television. So now, whenever one of my friends sees a commercial for the movie they call me and tell me what channel it's on. I think I've seen parts of just about every one!

For the trip I'll be bringing my Mom and Dad and my younger brother Christian. He just had his birthday, so this will be a second birthday present from me to him. He entered the contest too.

My parents, my brother and I have been looking at internet sites to see what to do in Hollywood. I'm really excited about seeing all the sites, like the Hollywood Walk of Fame and Grauman's Chinese Theater. But I also really want to do a Sony Movie Studio Tour. I also wanted to see if I could get in to see a TV show filming but my Dad says I may be too young to get in. Finally, I've been saving my money so my Mom and I could go shopping or at least walk around the stores in Beverly Hills.

But I think I'm most excited about the actual premiere. I hope I see a lot of the stars and maybe get a chance to take their pictures. I'm most nervous about what I'm going to wear to the premiere. I know no one will be looking at me with all the movie stars around, but I'm still really nervous about it. But I guess I feel better about it than my Dad who says he just needs to lose 40 pounds in the next three weeks.

Nick.com is set as my home page and I first saw mention of the movie
Monster House on there. At first I was only interested in designing
some costumes on the site - there was the ability to design costumes for
the kids from the movie to wear. But after a few days I noticed that
could enter a Sweepstakes; I asked my Dad if it was okay if I entered
and he said "sure". He spends a few minutes every night entering online
contests and he encouraged me to try. I really didn't think I would
win, but my Dad said somebody had to win, that I had as good a chance as
anyone else, but that and I couldn't win if I didn't enter. I might have
believed a little bit, but the Monster House Movie Site was a fun site
to visit anyway.

Anyway, after a few weeks after the sweepstakes ended the notification
came. Because of my age they sent the notification that I won to my
Dad's e-mail. Sometimes he'll get an e-mail saying he won a hat or a
t-Shirt or a Candy Bar, when he's really trying to win a car or a house,
and he'll say "Guess what I won?". Since he mostly wins t-shirts or hats
his answer is mostly always a little disappointing, so when he said
"Guess what Allison won?" I was thinking I won a t-shirt too. When he
read out that I had won the Grand Prize I couldn't believe it. Neither
could my Mom. My mom kept asking if he was sure that I won the Grand
Prize or if it was just an e-mail saying that I was eligible to win the
Grand Prize. When he said that I really won I was amazed. When my Dad
told me the stuff I had won I couldn't wait to tell all my friends...I
told them all the next day at school and they couldn't believe it either.

Right now I have a picture from the Monster House movie on my bedroom
door. The poster said Monster House - Coming July 2006, but my Dad used
his computer and added my name so now it says Monster House - Allison Coming July 2006!
