(Josie on BEAKMAN’S WORLD)
Alanna Ubach plays “Josie,” Beakman’s very first lab assistant. She hails from Downey, California, and was described as "an actress to keep your eye on" by The New York Times and "one to watch," by USA Today. Recently, she co-starred in Lion’s Gate’s comedy, Waiting, as “Naomi,” a memorably steamed waitress. She played Ben Stiller’s hilarious first love, “Isabel,” in the hit comedy, Meet the Fockers. In 2004, Alanna reprised her role as “Serena” in Legally Blonde II. She has directed and written two short films, Mi Amor Mi Dolce and The Fart Show, and recently premiered her three-person comedy troupe, Velcro.
Alanna’s distinctive voice is familiar to television cartoon fans. She’s a regular on Teamo Supremo, Ozzie and Drix, Brandy and Mr. Whiskers, Higglytown Heroes, and El Tigre. Other feature film credits include Cannes Film Festival winner Denise Calls Up. She played the ringleader in Freeway, a temp looking for something better in Clockwatchers, and the only female lead alongside David Arquette in Johns. She also performed prominent roles in Just Your Luck, with Vince Vaughn, Layin’ Low, with Jeremy Piven, as well as in Sister Act II, Airborne, Renaissance Man, and The Brady Bunch Movie. TV credits include The West Wing, Monk, House MD, and Sports Night.
Alanna has an extraordinary stage presence, too. For her performance in the powerful World War II drama, Kindertransport, at the prestigious Manhattan Theater Club, she was described by The Village Voice as “a marvelously affecting and unaffected young actress.”
