A year ago, Lynn Holt (played by Kathleen Quinlan) was dedicated to her marriage, her children, and Holt & Holt, the law firm she co-founded with her husband, Michael. Then one morning she arrived at the office to find that Michael had left her and taken the firm with him: clients, associates… even the furniture. Lynn now has to rebuild her legal practice and raise teenage Cassie and eight year old Rupie alone. This year, she continues to try balancing child care, her own need for a personal life and her ex-husband's new relationship with her full time practice. As if that weren't enough, she expands her law practice to a partnership, bringing new faces, new conflicts and challenging legal dilemmas into her life.
