Tony Danza joins the cast as Joe Celano, the newest attorney in the firm
who comes from a troubled past in FAMILY LAW,the one-hour drama from Columbia
TriStar Television, airing Mondays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.
Perhaps best known for his likeable sitcom personas, Danza is indisputably one of America's most popular performers and has starred in some of television's most beloved and long-running series. He has also established himself as a veritable stage and screen star as well as a respected producer. Born and raised in Brooklyn, Danza attended the University of Dubuque on a wrestling scholarship, where he earned a Bachelor's degree in History Education. Following college, his discovery by a producer at a boxing gym in New York led to his being cast in the critically acclaimed series "Taxi," earning him a place in television history. Following a five-year run on "Taxi," Danza starred in the series "Who's the Boss" for eight seasons. Danza recently received an Emmy nomination for his guest appearance on "The Practice" and received accolades for his performance opposite George C. Scott and Jack Lemmon in the remake of the film classic "12 Angry Men." He also starred in the comedy series "Hudson Street" and "The Tony Danza Show," both for which he also served as Executive Producer. On stage, Danza received critical raves for his performances in the Broadway revival of Eugene O'Neill's "The Iceman Cometh" and Arthur Miller's Tony award-winning play "A View From the Bridge." He made his theatrical debut in "Wrong Turn at Lungfish" for which he received an Outer Critic's Circle Award nomination. On the big screen, Danza has starred in "Angels in the Outfield," "She's Out of Control," "A Brooklyn State of Mind," "Gangster Glam" and "Illtown." Danza also wrote, directed and starred in the short film inspired by personal events entitled "Mama Mia." Realizing a dream, Danza continues to garner accolades performing his song and dance stage show. Since the show's debut in 1995, he has taken it on the road to major venues across the United States, appearing on the legendary Las Vegas strip, Atlantic City and New York City. Danza has three children and resides in Los Angeles with his wife, Tracy.
