Blythe Danner portrays Izzy, Dr. Craig Huffstodt’s (Hank Azaria) antagonistic and nosy mother, in the Sony Pictures Television original drama series HUFF, for Showtime.

Danner received a Tony Award for her Broadway debut performance in “Butterflies Are Free.” Her Tony-nominated performances include Blanche Dubois in “A Streetcar Named Desire,” Emma in Harold Pinter’s “Betrayal,” and most recently Phyllis in Steven Sondheim’s “Follies.” For New York’s Shakespeare Festival in the Park, Danner played Beatrice to Kevin Kline’s Benedick in “Much Ado About Nothing.” For more than 20-years she has been a member of the Williamstown Theatre Festival, and has appeared with such regional companies as the Mark Taper Forum, The Brooklyn Academy of Music, The Repertory Company of Lincoln Center and the Manhattan Theatre Club.

Her movies include “1776,” “The Great Santini” with Robert Duvall, Barbra Streisand’s “The Prince of Tides,” three Woody Allen films, Merchant/Ivory’s “Mr. & Mrs. Bridge” with Joanne Woodward and Paul Newman, Neil Simon’s “Brighton Beach Memoirs,” “Meet the Parents” with Robert DeNiro and Ben Stiller, and “Sylvia,” with her daughter Gwyneth Paltrow.

Danner’s many television appearances include Chekhov’s “The Seagull” and G.B. Shaw’s “Candida” for PBS. She was nominated for an Emmy Award last year for her performance in Joyce Carol Oates’ “We Were the Mulvaneys.” Additionally, she received Cable Ace nominations for “A Call to Remember” and HBO’s “Judgment.” She also plays Will’s mother on the hit sitcom “Will & Grace.”

Danner will soon begin work on the highly anticipated sequel to “Meet the Parents.” She drives an electric car and powers it at her home with solar panels. She highly recommends all alternative energies to one and all.
