College Championship
May 4th - 15th
Students will compete from a specially designed $1 million dollar
traveling set which will have a very academic look and collegiate
feel. In the first week, all players appear in a series of five
shows. The winners of each of these shows, plus the four highest
money earners go on to the semi-finals. The nine semi-finalists
compete in three shows the following week and the winners of those
shows proceed to a two-game final match.

The Champion is guaranteed a minimum $25,000 cash prize, a specially
designed trophy and a 1998 Volvo S70 GLT sedan valued at over
$34,000. The winner also plays the Jeopardy! Tournament of Champions.
In addition, first second and third place winner's earnings will
be matched by Volvo and earmarked for student scholarships at
their respective schools. The second place finisher is guaranteed
$15,000, and third place pockets a minimum of $10,000. Semi-finalists
receive $5,000 and players eliminated in the first week receive
$2,500.
