
Dean Cain, host of the original series, Ripley's Believe It or Not! recently starred in The Broken Hearts Club, directed by Greg Berlanti and co-starring Timothy Olyphant, Andrew Keegan and John Mahoney. The romantic comedy about friendship premiered at the 2000 Sundance Film Festival. Cain was also recently seen in the Jerry Zucker-directed Paramount comedy Rat Race. The film, about a group of people in Las Vegas who win the opportunity to participate in a race from Vegas to New Mexico, stars Whoopi Goldberg, Cuba Gooding, Jr., Jason Alexander, Seth Green, and John Cleese.
In addition to his film work, Cain was seen in the Hallmark Hall of Fame television movie The Runaway, based on the novel by Terry Kay and Arthur Sidelman. He will soon be seen in Hallmark's new version of Gentle Ben.
Cain recently filmed The Glow with Portia de Rossi (Ally McBeal) for Fox. The pair play an upscale New York couple whose life changes dramatically after encountering some elderly benefactors. Supporting player including Hal Linden, Joe Campanella, Dina Merrill and Grace Zabriskie.
In 1984, Cain made his feature film debut in the critically acclaimed independent film The Stone Boy, starring Robert Duvall and Glenn Close, and directed by Cain's stepfather, Chris Cain. He later starred in the cop comedy Best Man, with Andy Dick.
Cain starred for four seasons as "Clark Kent"/"Superman" in the TV series Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman. Prior to that, he had spent a season playing "Rick" on the series Beverly Hills 90210. In addition to series, Cain has also starred on television in such movies as Things That Go Bump in the Night, Dogboys, Rag and Bone and Futuresport.
