DAN JBARA , Executive Producer RIPLEY’S BELIEVE IT OR NOT!
An early entrant into the reality genre, Dan Jbara is currently the executive producer of RIPLEY’S BELIEVE IT OR NOT!, one of the most recognizable brands in reality television. Under his guidance, RIPLEY’S has maintained a strong audience following as the show continues to entertain viewers with the bizarre, fantastic and unbelievable. In addition to serving as executive producer for original episodes of RIPLEY’S for TBS, Jbara is also overseeing the creation of half-hour episodes of the popular one-hour series for its launch in national syndication on September 15.
Believing that truth is stranger than fiction, Jbara celebrates the unique, different and bizarre people from around the globe. The success of RIPLEY’S lies in his belief that every person is special and, given a chance, what may seem weird or strange is fascinating and gives insight into the human psyche.
Prior to RIPLEY’S, Jbara served as co-executive producer of “AXN-TV” for the Fox Family Channel, producer of the successful syndicated entertainment/news series “Hard Copy,” and coordinating producer of “A Current Affair.” He also executive produced Sony Pictures Television’s “Worst-Case Scenario.”
Jbara’s other credits serving as coordinating producer for “The Mickey Mouse Club” in 1993. His segment-producer credits include “Entertainment Tonight,” “The Disney Club,” NBA Entertainment, “Special Report TV” and the news shows at various FOX stations.
Jbara produced electronic press kits for the feature films “The Last Seduction” and “Blame It on the Bellboy.” He worked on the 1988 Emmy Awards telecast, “Night of 100 Stars II,” “Liberty Weekend 1986” and the 1985 Tony Awards telecast.
Jbara earned a 1994 ALDO Award for Outstanding Directing in Fashion Journalism and a 1994 CableACE nomination for Outstanding Children's Program.
