An accomplished actress, writer, comedienne and director, Renee Taylor was nominated for an Emmy for her portrayal of Fran Fine's flamboyant mother, Sylvia. She and her husband, actor/writer/director Joseph Bologna, were nominated for an Academy Award for their first screenplay, "Lovers and Other Strangers," and won an Emmy Award for their television special "Acts of Love and Other Comedies."

A native New Yorker and graduate of the Academy of Dramatic Arts, she and her husband have collaborated on many projects, their latest being the feature film "Love Is All There Is," which they co-wrote and co-directed. Their most recent play, "Bermuda Avenue Triangle," enjoyed long runs in Los Angeles and New York and is heading for the big screen.

Taylor's other Broadway credits include "Agatha Sue, I Love You," "The Rehearsal" and "Lovers and Other Strangers." She also starred in the national tours of "Annie Get Your Gun" and "Wish You Were Here."

In 1987, Taylor co-wrote, co-directed and co-starred with Bologna in "It Had To Be You." Other starring film roles include "Last of the Red Hot Lovers," "A New Leaf," "The Detective," "Lovesick," "Love, Sex and Marriage" and "White Palace."

Also an author, Taylor wrote the best-selling satire on "how to" celebrity health books, My Life On A Diet, published by Putnam.

Taylor lives in Beverly Hills, Calif. The couple's son, Gabriel, is currently following his parents' lead in show business as a writer and actor.
