Walton Goggins plays “Detective Shane Vendrell,” now back with the Strike Team after running his own team last season. It is a bittersweet homecoming as the Team’s dirty past comes back to haunt them.

Goggins grew up in a small town outside of Atlanta, Georgia where he began his acting career landing a key role in the Golden Globe nominated Movie of the Week “Murder in Mississippi” about three slain civil rights workers.

Four years later after many guest spots on series television and smaller roles in films like “Switchback,” “Karate Kid III” and “Mr. Saturday Night,” Goggins had the distinct honor of playing ‘Sammy,’ Robert Duvall’s trustworthy friend in “The Apostle” for October Films.

Goggins has since appeared in numerous films including “The Bourne Identity” starring Matt Damon; “Shanghai Noon” opposite Jackie Chan and Owen Wilson; “Major League III;” “Joyride” directed by John Dahl; “Wayward Son;” “Red Dirt;” and Billy Bob Thorton’s “Daddy and Them.” Goggins can also be seen in the upcoming film “The World’s Fastest Indian” opposite Anthony Hopkins to be released this fall.

Goggins, along with his partners at Ginny Mule Pictures won an Academy Award for their short film “The Accountant,” which he co-produced and starred in. The Academy Award winning team produced, directed and starred in their first feature “Chrystal,” which also stars Billy Bob Thornton; it was released in 2005 to rave reviews. They have just completed principle photography on their third production, Randy and the Mob.
