POSTED 12-31

The day of the taping arrived. We met early in the morning at the Palazzo. Went into the showroom and practiced spinning the wheel playing a quick game. The wheel is heavier than it looks; I only got to spin it twice. Not enough practice to know how hard to spin to get around bankrupt or land before it. Then they took us to the back and divided us into our shows and started getting make-up. I was on the 4th show. That's part of the second taping; I had a long day ahead of me. We went out for the first 3 tapings. I was on a roll I knew most of the puzzles early on. I kept thinking "please let it be this easy when it's my show." It's nice to be able to see how everything goes.

Finally, it was time for my show I was in the red position right next to Pat. I didn't get the 1st tossup. Talking to Pat was the most nerve racking thing to do. You don't want to sound dumb in front of the audience let alone the whole country. 2nd toss up just missed ringing in 0-2, 1st round player 2 solves it. In the 2nd round, I solve the puzzle, win some money and get the monkey off my back; what a relief. For the 3rd round it was a prize puzzle. Contestant 3 is on a roll, she's taking everything off the wheel, the trip, the wild card, and she goes to solve the puzzle and was wrong. My turn, I spin, guess the letter M and solve "Snorkeling among the tropical fish" I asked Pat "Where am I going? He tells me, "St.Croix." Sweet!!

3rd toss up and I'm on a roll. "Pet Hamster", I get to start round 4. I get a spin in before the final spin by Pat and I'm in the lead by about $13,000 come on pat hit $300 I can't lose. He hits the $5,000 add $1,000 for $6,000 a letter. It's a big puzzle. My jaw drops. Anyone can win now. I guess a letter I get $12,000. I guess "Miami dolphins win the Super Bowl" not even close. As letters are revealed by other players, I know it but I only have seconds to figure out which letter has the most up there. I guess "B"; $12,000 more. I solve "baby you can drive my car" Winner winner Chicken dinner! Final round here I come.

Before the final round, I get to practice spinning the wheel. Pat says, "Settle down think about what letters you want to call but wait till you see the puzzle". It was a thing. I hate the category it can be anything I pick c m p and a. A _ _ _ _ _ _ _ C E 10 seconds pass, didn't get it, "A HIGH VOICE" could have won $50,000 more. Oh well, I had a great time and won over $40,000 in prizes and money. Not bad for a day's play. Thanks to the contestant coordinators, they were awesome as well as the makeup artists.
