POSTED 1-3

Game shows have always been a big part of my life. Although I am not physically athletic, I am super competitive and game shows are my sport. My father and I "practiced" daily by watching Wheel of Fortune. When I was young I remember being amazed that my Dad seemed to always solve the puzzles before the contestants did. I thought that he was better than any contestant and that he should be on the show. As the years passed, My Dad and I continued to watch and I started to solve more and more puzzles, maybe even beating him now and then. The talk became that we should go on Wheel of Fortune together. I could never have predicted that my dream may actually become a reality.

My dream started to come true one afternoon last fall when I heard a radio commercial advertising that the Wheelmobile was going to be in Jacksonville this Saturday and Sunday. I knew I had to go no matter what! From the moment I heard the commercial on the radio every detail has fallen perfectly into place, almost as if it was meant to be.

The Wheelmobile event was held at our local Minor League Baseball stadium. Saturday arrived and the only thing standing between me and my lifelong dream was a little slip of paper in a giant gold drum of chance. I tried not to be discouraged as Saturday came and went and I didn't get called. On Sunday, my son, Tyler told my Mom that he was going to be my good luck charm. He was right! When I heard my name called and the two of us ran out on to the field, I knew my life was about to change.

Anticipation was the name of the game for the months following. Our lives became all about Wheel of Fortune. We checked the mail daily, hoping the letter would arrive until one day it did. Soon after, I went to the second round of auditions where I made it through to the end and left with the anticipation of waiting for yet another letter. This time the wait wasn't nearly as long; about a week later it arrived. The letter was to inform me that I would be a contestant in the next eighteen months. I played the waiting game until the call of a lifetime came. The call to come to California, I was actually going to be a contestant on WHEEL OF FORTUNE!

Tune in January 6 to see if my dream comes true.
