My sister and I have been big fans of the show since we were very young. About 17 years to be exact. We always watched it with our mom; we made it a family tradition to watch Wheel of Fortune everyday. As we got older we started to compete against each other and made it very fun. We have always liked watching it, because if we can solve the puzzle before the contestants on TV we felt a little smart. All of our family and friends knew that we watched Wheel of Fortune. Many of them commented on how we should try out for the show. It sounded like a great idea to my sister, my mom and myself.
At first it was a dilemma as to who will play together. My mom and sister together, my mom and myself, my sister and I, we did not know how we were going to handle the situation. My mom decided that it would be best that my sister and I go and audition, that way once we did get on the show she could sit in the audience and watch us with a kool-aid smile! There was an audition at the Morongo Casino, but we missed that one because my sister could not get off work. My sister then told me about another audition at the Radisson Hotel in Culver City so we decided to sign up.
The audition was very interesting. We were fine until we started to see all the teams slowly but surely entering the room. That made us very nervous. We had a game plan and that was to go all the way and GET ON THE SHOW!!!! So we played the game. Once we solved a puzzle our nerves subsided and we were in it to win it! We were over the top, smiling and cheering and just having a great time. When we found out we made the last round of the audition, it felt great! We were on cloud nine. We said to each other, no matter what happens we did our best. It was also great because other teams loved us too, and gave us compliments. We left the audition and immediately called our mom and told her about our experience. The worse thing of all was waiting for the phone call to see if we had made it on the show.
We auditioned February 8, 2011 and did not receive a phone call until the end of February. I was in the nail shop when the contestant coordinator called me, I had to refrain from screaming I was so excited. I immediately called my mom, then my sister. My sister thought I was playing a practical joke on her and she hung up the phone in my face, but it was no joke!
We were actually going to be on Wheel of Fortune! Tune in Tuesday, May 24th, to watch us spin the Wheel!
