This Week's Contestant
God was definitely good to me. I can't give anyone the praise but Him and I can't leave mom out. She worked her "magic" as usual when that plane left without me so I could get my chance to make it to the dance. Thanks again.
I remember getting dressed that morning, I had to make a sunrise walk to the drugstore for some last minute supplies that didn't make it on the plane, but I was up and at 'em. My little sister (love you Jerilyn!) Helped me with the final details of getting ready and then I jumped into a cab and made my way to the taping location. We were definitely made to feel important all day, but I also felt like I was on a covert operation. I had no contact with the outside world and I was escorted everywhere, but rules are rules.
Vanna White's stylist had to help pin my hair as it kept flying in my face every time I spun the wheel. Who knew a bobby pen would be oh so priceless? But I couldn't talk to my family, and of course my 8yr old had already gotten the evil eye from my dad so he wasn't even trying to say "Hi".
Really it all flew by. I do remember people following me out the studio and wanting to take pictures with me like I was on the A-list. I just rolled with the moment. I was glad I was had a chance to be Ms. Sunshine. We went out to eat and made our way to the hotel. As we made our way back home the next morning, it almost felt like I woke up from a dream.
I told my co-workers in an email the day before the show aired. We had a viewing party at the house, good people, good food, tons of fun. As it got closer to airing I did start sharing a little bit with a few more friends and family, but I told no one the outcome. I also got nervous all over again as I was anxious to see the show final cut. I did buy a new swimsuit and I'm stepping up my fitness so that I can take a nice relaxing vacation to start the New Year off right.
The experience did adjust my mindset because although I would say anything is possible, I didn't really believe that. Now I do believe that anything is possible, because here I was living the dream of my 8yr old self. Of course now my dilemma is who do I take with me to Jamaica, perhaps Donald Trump can help me make the "Ultimate Merger", I surely wouldn't mind going back to Vegas.
Well I have to leave my cloud and roll back to reality I did want to win the million, but hey I'm satisfied with my blessing, for one day's work I have no complaints! Thanks to every one ,keep watching Wheel, and never be afraid to chase your dreams.
