POSTED 6-1

I finally got the call!

The whole day of the show was exciting! I felt comfortable because I had been through the whole process before as a stand-by contestant, but this time I was going to be on the show!

I felt pretty confident knowing it was "Tennis Week" and the puzzles would be tennis related. Having that background I thought for sure would help. We were ready for the first Toss-Up and I think I buzzed in with only two or three letters showing. I got it!

I remember trailing into the 3rd Toss-Up and telling myself if I was going to come back and win this thing I had to get that Toss-Up and start the final round. My tennis knowledge paid off yet again! Jimmy Connors! I now had a chance, but time was running out so Pat was going to spin the wheel one final time. I remember saying out loud, "Come on Pat, help me out here!" The Wheel went round and round and what did he land on? None other than the $5,000 wedge! I still had a chance. Each contestant had a few chances at letters and when it came back around to me and when I solved it, I had no idea of the amount of money I had just won; and that I was going to the Bonus Round! That was probably the most memorable moment of that day; turning my head to look at the scoreboard and seeing my total winnings! Although I didn't get the bonus puzzle I was just excited to be there to have the chance.

Pat was definitely a great host. He made us laugh and kept all the contestants relaxed throughout the show. I do remember standing next to him during the credits and asking him and Vanna when were they going to be in another movie? I told Pat his last movie was "Airplane II," the Sequel; and Vanna's last movie was "Naked Gun 33 1/3." They both laughed and said their movie days were over. Haha!

As far as plans for my winnings, it will be put to good use and pay for my wife's graduate school. We may put some of that money into our houseor a vacation we both greatly deserve!! Thank you Wheel of Fortune!!!!!
