This Week's Contestant
|Theme:||Spring Fling Las Vegas|
Hey Wheel fans! Getting on my all-time favorite game show was not easy, but it was a fun journey that was well worth the effort. After jumping up and down screaming at my television set at a contestant in the Bonus Round who could not figure out the puzzle, I logged on to the Wheel of Fortune web site and immediately filled out a contestant application. I figured that I had no choice but to be on the show at some point. When else will I be able to apply my 20+ years of experience solving puzzles with missing letters come in handy!
I was so excited when I learned that auditions would be held right here in my city of Las Vegas, at the Venetian Resort Hotel and Casino. When I got there I had a blast interacting with about 60 avid Wheel of Fortune fans, completed a very challenging written test, and then gave a brief interview after making the first cut.
Then I waited for "the call." I waited, waited, and waited, all while watching the show every day imagining how much money I would win if I was to ever get on the show. Then a few weeks later on my way to the gym, I learned that I would be a contestant on the Spring Fling week in Las Vegas! I immediately started playing the online version of the game show, started DVRing every new episode, and spent all of my down time doing crossword puzzles. Hard to squeeze in the time between teaching middle school math and going to law school at night, but let's just say I never turned down a hangman challenge against an 8th grader and spent more than a few evenings playing Wheel on my laptop in class (sorry professors!)
I knew that this would be the moment of a lifetime, and I am so excited to be able to share my Spring Fling experience with you all. Hope you enjoy rooting for me at home as much as my Las Vegas home court audience enjoyed it! Tune in Wednesday, March 30th, to see how I did!
