Let me start by saying...ALL of my life I have wanted to be on a game show! I grew up in Tustin, California watching game shows all summer with my friends certain that my destiny was to be a game show contestant on TV!

I have applied online to be a Wheel of Fortune Contestant a few times over the past 12 years. You know, Sweetheart Week, Best Friends Week, Country Music Fan Week, Family Week... you get the idea! I have even driven 2 hours to the coast for live auditions, but found the line too long to wait in with a small child. So we turned around and drove home.

So, when I woke up on a Tuesday morning in March and saw an email that said "WOF Auditions" I was ecstatic! Wheel of Fortune was auditioning for contestants for the Portland taping and I was invited!

I showed up along with 49 other eager wanna-be contestants. We each got our name called and had a chance at calling a letter or buying a vowel. Then it was on to the written test. Whoa! It was every bit as hard as I had heard. Thankfully I made it to the final 15. After a few more letter calling the coaches said "If you don't hear from us in 14 days you didn't make it."

I went home and put a note under my pillow that said "You will be chosen to be on Wheel of Fortune." Every night, I read the note and placed it back under my pillow. On day 13, I received a call! The good news: I was invited to be a stand by contestant! The less than good news: I would most likely have to wait for a future call to be a playing contestant.

After watching five shows being taped in Portland I went home to wait for another call AND to practice! I trained to be a contestant. Over the next three months, I solved over 600 puzzles in an effort to be the best contestant I could be.

I received the call in July to come to LA with only 10 days notice. I was ready. My lucky contestant day: Friday, July 13th!

After the first call to be a stand by contestant on Wheel of Fortune, I turned the original note that I had placed under my pillow over and wrote "I'm going to solve lots of puzzles and win lots of money."

Watch me on November 8th and see if my note came true!
