Wow this is all surreal!
I am in Culver City, CA ready to play Wheel of Fortune! I show up at the studio ready and eager to play! They are taping six shows that day. I am hoping to get to get to play in the first couple of shows as I have already spent 13 hours watching 5 shows being taped in Portland. Of course I get picked to be in the 6th and final taping of the day! That's ok, more time to watch and learn!
Vanna pops her head in the contestant room to wish us all good luck and of course to tell us to buy vowels!! She is so sweet!
I have been prepped by the Wheel of Fortune Contestant Coordinators (they are the best of the best!) and had more make- up put on my face than I've ever worn before (got to look good on HD TV!) and I am ready to go!
It's the end of the day and finally my turn to play! I get to be in position one next to Pat. How much better can this get? I solve the first speed round with ease. Miss the second...that's OK, there's lots of money to go around!
I land on the $10,000 wedge and turn it over to reveal the dreaded bankrupt. Off we to the next person the puzzle goes!
Oh wow, it's still very close when we get to the final round. Pat uses his "golden arm" to land on $5,000. Each letter is worth $6,000! I solve the final puzzle for a whopping $30,000 and I am off to the bonus round!
In the bonus round I remember the tips the Contestant Coordinators have told me and am able to guess enough letters to solve "pinky ring." I've won a car! I'm so glad my husband, Brad is with me to celebrate!
So let me tell you what a lifelong dream, a note under my pillow and practicing brought me: $66,650 worth of cash, a vacation to Aruba, and a brand new car!
Believe in your dreams and they will come true!
