Vanna's FAQs

| | Comments (13)
Many fans ask me similar questions. Read below to get the scoop on those things you've always wondered when watching Wheel!

  • Do you get to keep your clothes?
No, they are returned to the designers after I wear them. Find out more and view a photo of my dressing room here.

  • Have you ever worn the same dress twice?
No, I've worn a different outfit on all 5,000 shows!

  • What's your favorite city to visit on the road with Wheel?
I think each city has something special to offer, which I enjoy, but being in Hawaii is probably my favorite because we tape our shows outdoors.

  • How do you stay in shape?
I exercise at least five days a week. I spin, run, lift light weights, do sit-ups and push-ups and practice yoga. You can get more details on my fitness routine here.

  • Do you diet?
No, but I do try and watch what I eat. I don't go back for seconds and I'll have a sliver of a piece of pie instead of two pieces!

  • When do you learn the solutions to the puzzles?
I don't learn the solutions to the puzzles until right before each round. I go behind the the puzzle board where there is a graph with the puzzles laid out for me to review.

  • Do you miss turning the letters now that you just touch them?
No, I love the new high-tech look of the puzzle board.

  • Do you enjoy your job?
Yes, I love my job!

  • Is your real name Vanna White?
Yes, it's a family name.

  • How did you get the job on Wheel?
I auditioned along with 200 other girls, and Merv Griffin selected me.

  • How many children do you have?
Two, a boy and a girl.

  • Are you a good speller?
Yes. I always aced my spelling tests in school!

I have enjoyed watching you and Pat on Wheel for several years now. Your still as beautiful as ever. Pat is also a nice looking person as well. You both seem like a nice people and that you get along well together. Have a great day!

Hi Vanna and Pat! I Love Wheel Of Fortune. I watch it every night. Keep up the great work!

Dear Vanna,
I just wanted to know the difference between a "Beaty Mark" and a "Birth Mark". You said on the June 16,2010 episode, people are born with "Beaty Marks". I always thought "Beauty Mark" was a nice or attractive way of saying "Mole". If so, my children and I have quite a few of them and counting. My boys were born with "Birth Marks" but, thier "Moles"/"Beauty Marks" appeared over a long period of time. My 11-y/o son finds a new one every so often but, I find a new one on my 4-y/o son almost monthly. At around 8-yrs/o, on myself, I counted 57, as I was told at the time, "Beauty Marks". I'm sure that number has at least doubled over the past 38 years!! Please let me know if I am using the right terminology. I really do not like misinforming my boys about anything, even if it is as trivial as "Mole" VS. "Beauty Mark". I feel when they ask a question, no matter what it might be, it is my duty as a mother to find out the correct answer, so they will be well informed about their curiosities now and will not have to waste valuable learning time in the future. It may sound weird but, in the future I would like their minds to be open to learn things that are important and not wondering during "The Bar Exam", (hopefully), if the mark on their arm is a "Mole", "Beauty Mark", or a "Birth Mark"!!! LOL!!! Again, let me know A.S.A.P. By the way, I've been a fan of yours for many years. Going back to when "New Woman" magezine quoted you and gave you a "Bop On The Head" for saying something like, "I can't wait to get up every morning and get dressed like a 'Barbie Doll'"! I thought it was cool that you felt secure enough to say it out loud and not keep it a forbidden thought. It was the 1980's and all women, who dressed feminine in formal wear, looked like a "Barbie Doll". You were "totally awesome" then and still are!!

Vanna:
I want to comment on how fantastic you looked in the floor length Red Taffeta gown you wore on the show aired on Thursday 7-8-2010. Hope you got it to wear for some special event. You and that taffeta dress were made for each other!

Were you the first girl on Wheel? It seems there was another before you. She said she never got to talk on the show as you do.

Hello, Vanna, and thanks for all the years of entertainment we have all enjoyed with you and Pat.

I do have a specific question I have not seen addressed in your blogs or FAQs -- but I have to explain how it comes about. My sister and I share caregiving responsibilities for our mother, who will be 99 in November. On the evenings I am with Mother, we watch Wheel; sometimes she even solves a puzzle, but often she will ask: "I wonder how many miles she walks every day?", referring, of course, to you.

So that's it; I promised I would try to find out for her. By the way, we're in Atlanta; do you ever come back to visit?

Thanks!

how old were when you started on wheel of fortune
