• SANTA MONICA, Calif., October 2, 2018 - Amazon Studios today announced it has ordered the one-hour action fantasy The Wheel of Time to series. Based upon Robert Jordan's best-selling fantasy novels, which have sold more than 90 million copies worldwide, the series was adapted for TV by Rafe Judkins (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Chuck) who also serves as showrunner, and is co-produced by Amazon Studios and Sony Pictures Television. The Wheel of Time will premiere globally on Amazon Prime Video in over 200 countries and territories.

  • NEW YORK (September 13, 2018) - Sony Pictures Classics announced today that they have acquired all rights in North America and Latin America to RUBEN BRANDT, COLLECTOR, directed by Milorad Krstic. The English language animated film from Hungary played at the Locarno and Sarajevo Film Festivals to enthusiastic audience and critical acclaim. Krstic's earlier short film MY BABY LEFT ME was awarded the Golden Berlin Bear for Best Short Film at the Berlin Film Festival and the Award for a First Film at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival.

  • CULVER CITY, Calif., September 12, 2018 - Sony Pictures Animation and Nelvana have announced the second-season renewal of the hit animated comedy Hotel Transylvania: The Series. Disney Channel in the U.S. and their global territories, and TELETOON Canada, a network owned by Nelvana parent company Corus Entertainment, are set to broadcast the new episodes.

  • TORONTO (SEPTEMBER 8, 2018) - Sony Pictures Classics announced today that they have acquired all rights in North America, Middle East, South Africa, Scandinavia, Benelux, India and worldwide airlines to Dogwoof's MAIDEN, by Alex Holmes. The documentary had its world premiere at the 2018 Toronto International Film Festival.

    The deal was negotiated between Sony Pictures Classics and Dogwoof on behalf of London-based production company New Black Films.

  • CULVER CITY, Calif., [August 20, 2018] - Five aspiring filmmakers will have the chance to see their work on the big screen as Aneesh Chaganty, director of Screen Gems' Searching, announces the results of his YouTube Space Director's Lab. At a special showing of Searching this Thursday in Los Angeles, all five shorts will be screened ahead of the film and the winner will be announced by Chaganty. The winning short will play ahead of Searching in select theaters starting the next day.

Based on the book Rudolf Nureyev: The Life by Julie Kavanaugh, the film is directed by Fiennes and written by Academy Award® nominated David Hare (THE HOURS, THE READER.) HanWay Films, who is handling worldwide sales, also co-financed the film together with BBC Films and Rogue Black.
