Ann Boyd Promoted To Senior Vice President Of Global Communications At Sony Pictures Entertainment

CULVER CITY, Calif., March 02, 2011 — Ann Junod Boyd (formerly Burkart) has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Global Communications at Sony Pictures Entertainment.

"Ann's a real rising star here at Sony," said Jim Kennedy, Executive Vice President of Global Communications, to whom she reports. "She's creative, collegial and smart. She knows business, entertainment, technology and the importance of helping the media get what they need accurately and fast."

Since joining Sony Pictures as Vice President of Global Communications in 2009, Boyd has helped lead corporate media relations for the company. "Among her many accomplishments, Ann has done a really great job in handling media surrounding our technology and environmental initiatives," Kennedy said. "She helped put the Sony 3D Technology Center on the map, and was instrumental in drawing attention to the groundbreaking UltraViolet digital media ecosystem, which is important to the future of our industry."

Before joining Sony, Boyd served as Vice President of Corporate Communications for Fox Interactive Media, News Corporation's online division. Prior to that, she worked for AOL, where she led music and entertainment communications. Boyd began her career in communications at Waggener Edstrom Worldwide working on Microsoft.
