  • SCOTT LANDSMAN UPPED TO SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT, COMEDY DEVELOPMENT FOR SONY PICTURES TELEVISION
  • CULVER CITY, CA (September 9, 2013) - Scott Landsman has been named senior vice president, comedy development for Sony Pictures Television (SPT), it was announced today by Glenn Adilman, executive vice president, U.S. comedy development, SPT, to whom he reports.

    In this role, Landsman fosters relationships with writers and creative talent while supervising new concepts from the idea stage through series orders for both broadcast network and cable comedy programming. He most recently developed new broadcast series The Michael J. Fox Show for NBC and The Goldbergs for ABC, as well as new pilot orders The McCarthys and Gaffigan for CBS.

    Moffat who joined SPT in 2007, will now advance to vice president, comedy development, also reporting to Adilman. Most recently, Moffat developed new broadcast series Bad Teacher for CBS, Us & Them for FBC and Welcome to the Family for NBC.

    "Scott and Lauren have established strong relationships with the creative communities, which have driven innovative ideas, lasting partnerships and a fantastic pilot season resulting in five new broadcast comedies," said Adilman. "Their phenomenal development skills continue to be instrumental in SPT's success in original series programming."

    Previously, Landsman served as vice president, U.S. comedy development. Beforehand, he was vice president, original programming and development at Comedy Central since 2007. He joined the network in 2004 as director, current programming and in 2006 was named director, original programming and development. While at Comedy Central, Landsman developed series such as Krod Mandoon & the Flaming Sword of Fire and Nick Swardson's Pretend Time. Prior to that, Landsman was executive director of development at USA Interactive Entertainment.

    Moffat served as director, comedy development before being promoted to her new position. Prior, she was director, current programming and worked on comedy Happy Endings and dramas Drop Dead Diva and Necessary Roughness. Earlier, Moffat served as manager, creative affairs.
