Message from Tony Vinciquerra - Return to Workplace Updates
I wanted to share some important updates to our Return-to-Workplace planning.
Given the recent rise in COVID-19 cases and changes to local guidance, we have decided to postpone our next return phase, which was intended to bring most of our employees back more fully and was scheduled to begin the week of September 7. Until further notice, returns will remain on a voluntary basis as they have been throughout the summer. For those who have been comfortable coming in regularly, you are encouraged to continue doing so.
As there is still uncertainty surrounding the Delta Variant and how that will impact local guidance, we will not set a new return date at this time. Current modeling shows that a return may be possible in early to mid-October. However, we want to continue monitoring the data before rescheduling. We will notify employees at least 30 days prior to the new return date.
When we start our full return, employees will have the option of flexible work schedules to adjust as we all transition back. Until the end of the year, employees will have the option of working at least three days per week in the office. Employees who opt to work one or two days remotely per week should discuss and set schedules with their managers.
For production areas, the industry's Return To Work Agreement remains in effect.
In the meantime, please continue to stay safe and look out for friends, family and your communities. Getting vaccinated is one of the most important ways to do this, and SPE strongly encourages those who can get vaccinated to do so to help protect against serious COVID-19 illness.
