Sony Pictures Entertainment Announces Keith Weaver Promoted To Executive Vice President And Head Of Worldwide Government Affairs

CULVER CITY, CA(September 19, 2011) - Keith Weaver has been promoted to the role of Executive Vice President, Worldwide Government Affairs for Sony Pictures Entertainment (http://www.sonypictures.com); it was announced today by Sony Pictures Entertainment's (SPE) Senior Executive Vice President and General Counsel Leah Weil, to whom he will report.

In his new role as Executive Vice President of Government Affairs, Weaver will oversee all aspects of the SPE's government relations and public policy activities as well as community affairs. Weaver has been with the company since June 2002 when he joined as a Vice President in Government Affairs and has served as Senior Vice President since October 2005 prior to this promotion.

Weaver and his team work closely with SPE's operating units and corporate staff groups to develop the company's legislative and regulatory agenda that supports the business strategies and initiatives of the motion picture, television, home entertainment and digital entertainment divisions. He also plays a role in the studio's affiliations with the Motion Picture Association.

Prior to joining SPE, Weaver helped develop the proposal for new districts for California's Senate, Congressional and Board of Equalization. Before that, Weaver was a regional manager of Community and Government Relations for Kaiser Permanente and served on the staff of former State Senator Herschel Rosenthal.

Weaver serves as Vice President of the California State Film Commission and has served as Vice Chair of the Board of Neighborhood Commissioners for the City of Los Angeles. Additionally, he serves on the boards of the Exceptional Children's Foundation; Genesis LA Economic Growth Corporation; Pat Brown Institute of Public Affairs; Providence Health & Services Community Ministry Board; and Slavery No More.
