Sony Pictures Home Entertainment Promotes Jason Spivak To Executive Vice President, Worldwide Digital Distribution

CULVER CITY, CA (July 19, 2012) - Sony Pictures Home Entertainment (SPHE) has promoted Jason Spivak to Executive Vice President of Worldwide Digital Distribution. The announcement was made today by Jim Underwood, Executive Vice President, Worldwide Digital and Commercial Strategy, to whom he reports.

In this role, Spivak will continue to lead the team responsible for SPHE's transactional digital business around the world.

"Jason has overseen tremendous growth in our digital transactional business. This has been done, in large part, by his forging strong partnerships with our customers and working with them to innovate and drive increased business in this area, especially through the ongoing roll-out of UltraViolet and cloud storage systems as well as the introduction of new and emerging business models that are critical to insuring on-going, intelligently managed growth for our home entertainment business." said Underwood. "His expertise in the field, the trust he's built with our customers and his ability to think strategically about our business have created effective distribution strategies necessary to keep our customers at the forefront of digital home entertainment."

Spivak is a veteran of the home entertainment industry, having held management positions in both the physical and digital segments of the business. Prior to his current role, Spivak served as SPHE's Senior Vice President and General Manager, Worldwide Digital Distribution and, prior to that, as Senior Vice President, Strategic Development. Before joining Sony Pictures, Spivak spent eight years at MGM Home Entertainment working in both Los Angeles and London leading that studio's early digital distribution efforts. He holds an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School of Business and a BA from UCLA.
