Sony Pictures Announces Online, Cable, Satellite And Telecom Update For The Interview
4.3 MILLION TRANSACTIONS; $31 MILLION FROM DECEMBER 24TH - JANUARY 4TH
[Culver City, CA - January 6, 2015] Sony Pictures Entertainment today announced that from Wednesday, December 24, 2014 through Sunday, January 4, 2015, The Interview has been rented or purchased online and through cable, satellite, and telecom providers more than 4.3 million times, totaling over $31 million in consumer sales.
The Interview is Sony Pictures' #1 online film of all time.
Online, The Interview is currently available through Google Play; YouTube Movies; Microsoft's Xbox Video; iTunes; VUDU, Walmart's digital VOD service; PlayStation Network; Amazon Instant Video; and through the dedicated website http://www.seetheinterview.com.
The film also is available with the nation's leading cable, satellite, and telecom providers' video-on-demand (VOD) services through iN DEMAND affiliates including Bright House Networks, Comcast, Cox Communications, and Time Warner Cable; VUBIQUITY affiliates including Charter Communications, Cablevision, and, AT&T U-verse TV; Verizon FiOS; DISH; and, DIRECTV.
The Interview opened in a limited theatrical release on Christmas Day. To date, theatrical box office totals are $5 million.
