<i>Wheel Of Fortune</i> Names Robert Ennis Director

Culver City, CA (September 14, 2015) - Wheel of Fortune will kick off its 33rd season with a new director. Robert Ennis has been promoted to director of the top-rated syndicated game show, it was announced today by executive producer Harry Friedman.

Ennis certainly knows his way around Wheel of Fortune, having been technical director for the show since 1992. He has also taken a turn in the director's chair 22 times between 2012 and 2014. In addition, Ennis has directed episodes of other game shows including Family Feud and Supermarket Sweep.

"Bob has been an extremely valuable member of the Wheel of Fortune family for many years," said Friedman. "We look forward to seeing how his extensive production experience will add new dimensions to the show."

"I am so proud to be named the director of Wheel of Fortune and I couldn't ask for a better group of people to be working with," said Ennis of his promotion. "I look forward to building on the traditions of my predecessors and taking the show to the next level."

Ennis has won two Emmy Awards for his work on Hollywood Squares and the 1984 Summer Olympic Games. He has also worked for the Grass Valley Group and SONY, doing switcher demonstrations, instruction, and assisting in switcher design. Ennis shares multiple patents for switcher/DVE features with those companies.

He was born and raised in Los Angeles and studied television production at Loyola Marymount University. Upon graduation, Ennis started his impressive career by joining ABC as a video tape operator and editor tape operator and editor for shows that included: Good Morning America, Monday Night Baseball and The Academy Awards.

From there, Ennis moved on to ABC as graphics editor for their Video Design Group and was technical director at ABC (1981-1989) for: 1988-1989 Academy Awards (Effects Technical Director), 1984 Summer Olympic Games (Effects Technical Director), KABC Local News, ABC Commercial Integration, L.A. Today and High Rollers.

Ennis has been technical director on shows including: The Bold & The Beautiful, Hollywood Squares, The Price is Right (Syndicated), CBS News and The Young & The Restless.

During his tenure at ABC and CBS, Ennis worked with and was mentored by legendary directors including Jerry Shaw, Chris Darley, Marty Passetta and Marc Breslow.
