NEW YORK (September 9, 2019) – Sony Pictures Classics announced today that they have acquired all rights in the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, Japan, China and worldwide airlines to Azazel Jacobs’ FRENCH EXIT. The film stars Oscar® nominee Michelle Pfeiffer and Oscar® nominee Lucas Hedges, and is set to start production this October in Montreal and Paris.  

CULVER CITY, Calif. August 19, 2019 – Columbia Pictures’ Spider-Man: Far From Home has officially become Sony Pictures’ highest-grossing film of all time, passing the global box office gross of Columbia Pictures/Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures/EON Production’s Skyfall.

CULVER CITY, Calif., July 15, 2019 – In advance of the highly anticipated theatrical release of Quentin Tarantino’s original film, Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood, Sony Pictures Television’s networks worldwide will come together for "Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood and Quentin Tarantino Present The Swinging Sixties," a series of 10 films personally curated by the writer/director, all of which served as a specific influence in the creation of his latest 1969-set film.
 

[Culver City, CA and New York, NY – July 15, 2019] Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE) and HarperCollins Publishers today announced an unprecedented partnership with former Fox 2000 President Elizabeth Gabler and her entire Fox 2000 team to source literary material and produce film content across all platforms. The yet-to-be-named venture will be located on the Sony Pictures lot in Culver City, CA and will commence operations later this summer.

CULVER CITY, Calif., June 27, 2019 – On Wednesday, June 26, an 80-foot long Spider-Man inflatable swung over the red carpet as Sony Pictures Entertainment took over Hollywood Blvd. to celebrate the world premiere of Columbia Pictures and Marvel Studios’ Spider-Man™: Far from Home at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, California. The event attracted 1,500 guests as well as thousands of fans who lined the streets to cheer on the film’s cast and filmmakers.

 

CULVER CITY, June 7, 2019 – To coincide with the 35th anniversary of Ghostbusters, first released in U.S. theaters on June 8, 1984, Sony Pictures is launching “Ghostbusters 35th,” a year-long celebration of the iconic multi-media franchise, it was announced today by Jeffrey Godsick, EVP of Brand Strategy and Global Partnerships for Sony Pictures. The event represents a collaboration between several Sony Corporation divisions and will lead up to the newest installment in the film series to be released in theaters in 2020.

[CULVER CITY, CA, June 7, 2019] Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE) today announced the renaming of one of the largest theaters on its Culver City lot to honor Academy and Emmy Award-nominated director, screenwriter and producer John Singleton, who passed away in April.

NEW YORK – Sony Pictures Classics announced today that they have acquired all rights worldwide, excluding France and German speaking Europe, to Michael Angelo Covino’s THE CLIMB. The film premiered at the 2019 Cannes International Film Festival.

Directed by Covino and written by Covino and Kyle Marvin, the film stars Covino, Marvin, Gayle Rankin, Talia Balsam, George Wendt, and Judith Godrèche.
