CULVER CITY, CA (August 6, 2013) - Rachel Mizuno has been promoted to senior vice president, marketing, US distribution for Sony Pictures Television (SPT), it was announced today by Sheraton Kalouria, executive vice president & chief marketing officer, SPT, to whom she reports.

In this position, Mizuno is responsible for all marketing efforts in support of SPT's first-run and off-net syndication, SVOD, cable and broadcast sales businesses. This includes overseeing affiliate marketing, media strategy, consumer marketing and promotional campaigns.

(Culver City, CA, August 1, 2013) - Beginning September 1, 2013, Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE) and Tom Rothman will launch TriStar Productions. The new joint venture will augment the studio's strong output of motion pictures and television programming, it was jointly announced today by Michael Lynton, CEO of Sony Entertainment and Chairman and CEO of SPE, and Amy Pascal, Co-Chairman of SPE.

NEW YORK, NY (July 31, 2013) - Sony Pictures Classics announced today that after continued box office success they will once again increase BEFORE MIDNIGHT's theater count to 226 screens this weekend. Richard Linklater's film, starring Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy, has grossed $7,743,294 in theaters to date. This surpasses BEFORE SUNRISE and BEFORE SUNSET's box office grosses, marking BEFORE MIDNIGHT as the trilogy's most successful film.

NEW YORK (July 29, 2013) - Sony Pictures Classics announced today they have acquired worldwide rights to the documentary TIM'S VERMEER, directed by Teller of PENN & TELLER fame. Produced by Teller's stage partner Penn Jillette and Farley Ziegler, the film follows Tim Jenison, a Texas based inventor, as he attempts to solve one of the greatest mysteries in all of art: How did 17th century Dutch Master Johannes Vermeer ("Girl with a Pearl Earring") manage to paint so photo-realistically, 150 years before the invention of photography?

NEW YORK (July 24, 2013) - Sony Pictures Classics announced today it will be releasing Alex Gibney's Lance Armstrong documentary, THE ARMSTRONG LIE worldwide. The film, produced by Gibney, Frank Marshall and Matt Tolmach, tells the unfolding story of Armstrong's life and career over the last four years.

LOS ANGELES, CA - July 23, 2013 - Sony Pictures Imageworks (SPI) and Industrial Light & Magic (ILM) today announce the release of Alembic 1.5, their jointly-developed open-source project that facilitates the sharing of animation and visual effects scenes across multiple software applications.
