Culver City, November 14, 2023: Sony Pictures Entertainment has unveiled the centennial logo for Columbia Pictures, ahead of its 100th year anniversary on January 10, 2024.

CULVER CITY, CA (November 8, 2023) – Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE) today announced that Pixomondo (PXO), its Academy Award, BAFTA and Emmy-winning virtual production and visual effects business acquired in 2022, will assume operation and management of SPE’s first state-of-the-art LED virtual production stage. Built by Sony Innovation Studios (SIS), SPE’s award-winning entertainment technology company, the LED volume is located on Stage 7 on the historic Sony Pictures Studios lot in Culver City.

Nintendo Co., Ltd. (HQ: Kyoto Minami-ku; Representative Director and President: Shuntaro Furukawa, "Nintendo" hereafter) today announced that it will develop a live-action film of The Legend of Zelda.

The film will be produced by Shigeru Miyamoto, Representative Director and Fellow of Nintendo and Avi Arad, Chairman of Arad Productions Inc., who has produced many mega hit films.

NEW YORK (November 3, 2023) – Sony Pictures Classics announced today that they have acquired rights in North America and China to WICKED LITTLE LETTERS from STUDIOCANAL releasing theatrically in 2024. The film is directed by Thea Sharrock (ME BEFORE YOU) from a screenplay by Jonny Sweet (GREED). Starring Academy Award^® winner Olivia Colman and Academy Award^® nominee Jessie Buckley, the film had its world premiere at the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival.

NEW YORK (October 5, 2023) – Sony Pictures Classics announced today that they will release FREUD’S LAST SESSION in theaters in New York and Los Angeles on December 22, 2023, followed by an expansion in January. Directed by Matt Brown, the film stars Academy Award® winner Anthony Hopkins and Emmy® nominee Matthew Goode. The screenplay is written by Mark St. Germain (THE GOD COMMITTEE) based on his play of the same name. 

NEW YORK (October 4, 2023) – Sony Pictures Classics has landed North American rights to Stage 6 Films, Participant and Symbolic Exchange’s WE GROWN NOW. The film stars Blake Cameron James, Gian Knight Ramirez, S. Epatha Merkerson, Avery Holliday and Ora Jones, with Lil Rel Howery and Jurnee Smollett.

Sony Pictures Classics announced today that they have acquired all rights in North America, Latin America, the Middle East, and Australia/New Zealand to Academy Award^® nominee DK Welchman and Academy Award^® winner Hugh Welchman’s THE PEASANTS, which Poland has submitted as their official entry for the Best International Feature category for this year’s Academy Awards^®. The film will also be submitted in the Best Animation category.

CULVER CITY, September 7, 2023 – Sony Pictures Entertainment announced today that Andrew Reinsdorf will join the studio as Head of Global Public Policy & External Affairs.

Reinsdorf will lead SPE’s worldwide government affairs operations, overseeing the development and execution of the company’s government relations strategy, public policy, and public impact work, including SPE’s Corporate Social Responsibility team. He will report to Leah Weil, Senior EVP and General Counsel.
