(October 9, 2024) – Heading into MIPJunior and in the leadup to The Creature Cases’ Chapter Four premiere on Netflix on December 2, Sony Pictures Television – Kids (SPT – Kids) finalizes a raft of free-to-air licensing deals, expanding the global footprint of its pre-school animation series in Mexico, Brazil, Israel, France and Korea.  

Culver City, Calif. (September 19, 2024) – Sony Pictures Television – Kids (SPT-Kids) has launched Kidzuko, a YouTube hub channel curated for kids ages 3-8 years-old to access the studio’s rich library of content digitally. The debut of this new destination is part of SPT-Kids’ multi-platform franchise strategy which aims to meet kids where they are consuming content most, leveraging YouTube as a point of entry to integrate the company’s IP and grow awareness with the targeted demo. 

NEW YORK (October 8, 2024) – Sony Pictures Classics announced today that they have acquired the romantic drama ON SWIFT HORSES, with rights in North America, Latin America, Turkey, Scandinavia, Eastern Europe, Southeast Asia, India, Italy, Australia and New Zealand. The news comes after the film’s recent world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival.

NEW YORK (October 4, 2024) – Sony Pictures Classics announced today that they have acquired rights in North America, the Middle East, Turkey, Asia, India, Japan and South Korea to THE PENGUIN LESSONS following its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in the Galas section.

TOKYO (October 1, 2024) - Sony Group Corporation and Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE) today announced that SPE Chairman and CEO Tony Vinciquerra will step down from his role as SPE CEO, and that Ravi Ahuja, SPE’s current Chairman of Global Television Studios and President and COO, will assume leadership of SPE as President and CEO, effective January 2, 2025. Vinciquerra will remain in an advisory role for SPE as non-executive Chairman until the end of December 2025.

NEW YORK (September 26, 2024) – Sony Pictures Classics announced today that they have acquired all worldwide rights to Embeth Davidtz’s directorial debut, DON’T LET’S GO TO THE DOGS TONIGHT, based on Alexandra Fuller’s memoir of the same name.  Written, directed and starring Davidtz (SCHINDLER’S LIST, MATILDA), the film also features a cast of up and comers including Lexi Venter, Zikhona Bali, Fumani N Shilubana, Rob Van Vuuren and Anina Hope Reed.

Being developed for tweens, the live action Portuguese-language series will be penned by Brazilian actress and writer, Suzana Pires (Sol Nascente; Flor do Caribe; Os Caras de Pau).
